Default New Article - Snap For Relevancy

Authored by: Paul Bruemmer

A Snippet:

While it launched over a year ago, Snap is still in its early days. I ran into Snap the other day when a co-worker blogged about its unique features. Being a search engine buff, I checked it out and must say I was pleasantly surprised. As I went deeper, my jaw opened wider. No way -- this is sweet!

Hey, I'm not going to lie, I give these new search engines about 1 search - maybe two and them I'm out. I figure, the deeper I get, the more excuses I make for it.

I did a search for "cute jewelry pouch" and the 4th result had to do with an actual jewelry pouch. The first and sponsored (which looked like all the rest aside from the Sponsored word to the right of the URL) was for getting jewelry on a no credit check basis, the second result was for a shady online store whose website didn't even work that well, the third for jewelry again (earrings), and the fourth finally for the popular baggalini brand. Now in Google, my cute jewelry pouch comes up first (as it should ) and so do lots of other jewelry pouches for that search term.

Also, it's not intuitive to click on the copy of the search result in order to SEE the homepage to the right, which doesn't even have the current home page all the time anyway. And, the whole thing is slow. Sorry, but I wasn't impressed...! In theory, I like it though.
