Default Forum Links And Google

Hey

In have been pondering and researching this question for some time, given the fact that Google are stripping links down to their basics with their updates.

How do Google view forums and backlinks, I am a member of many forums and the rules with most of them are, make X amount of posts and then you can add your signature link, to avoid spammers which makes complete sense, however, if you have to say make 50 posts on a particular forum, wouldn't this look spammy to a Google bot when your link comes online, as boom you get 50 backlinks which is unnatural in the eyes of Google - how are these links now viewed - good or bad for SEO?

I can understand in the terms of a real live person it works and at the end of the day we are all trying to survive in the world after algorithm updates.

Google can spot a vbulletin board platform and know whether something is a forum or a website and differentiate between the two, so how are they now treating our backlinks from them?

Should we now add "nofollow" to our forum signature links or not, do we care or should we make changes?

Let me know your thoughts, will help get this circle of questions out of my head!

First, Forums has nothing to do with SEO and it is true that most of the reputable forum sites today are strict with their signature links to avoid spammers. They have recommended number of post for the new members before they will be benefited with the signature links. However treat forum sites as our active online communities for the improvement in our relate field.

So you are telling there is no benefits on forum posting? But I have seen still many guys are doing forum posting for their seo purpose. But one thing they always prefer that is website authority.

I think that forum links are still somewhat relevant and can be effective if done right.
