Nowadays Blog Comments are just a waste of time. Most of them are nofollow.

Interesting. Didn't realize forum posting was considered spam, as well.

So just to be clear, both forums and blog comments generally offer little to no SEO value?

Forum Comments can actually bring good to great value/traffic to your site. It will all depend on the Forum Traffic and niche. It should be a forum related to your site.

Default I agree

I agree with you that blog comments can still work with web rankings as long as it's done properly.

Proper method:
  • Relevant Sites
  • Low OBL
  • Dofollow or Nofollow is Fine
  • Rotate Anchor Text (focused mainly around brand name or direct link)
  • Provide relevant comment that adds insight or asks questions about the post.

Think about it this way if you owned a blog what kind of comments would you want on your site.

Moderated approved comments are better because the spam will be weeded out and the moderator felt that you comment was useful enough for approval.

Once comment is approved you can ping for faster indexing.

If a comment is Nofollow how could it help your web rankings?

Leave meaningful comments on blogs. Read the post carefully, does it sound obvious to you? You may raise a question or you may highlight few points about the blog in your comment. Give genuine answer to show the blogger that you have read the post.

Hola

This is something I am off to do this week, I agre that you shouldn't worry all the time about follow or nofollow, quality customers should be what you are looking for - a targeted conversion

Its all good and well getting links from all and sundry but if the visitors going to that website are not valuable to your business, what is the point anyway, they are not going to place an order, download your ebook, contact you, request a quote, sign up for your newsletter etc

Not to mention how Google views any bad neighbourhoods you may find yourself connected to - backlinks should be chosen carefully and my focus is always new business from a targeted link, not a ton of links just to make my stats look good!

I have to disagree that forum posting does not offer value, forum signature links offer great SEO value providing you are not spamming said forum - if your comments and posts are of valuable and you post regularly you will see benefits to your website

Yes I agree with your post but in blog commenting we must choose natural commenting way for blog commenting. So, it is considered by White hat technique.
So, Doing conversion in commenting and comment natural comment for every post. Choose your business subjective site with high pr for your business and ten comment.
