Thumbs up Blog Comments Are Not DEAD!

Everyone is saying blog commenting is dead - this could not be further from the truth.

Use your keywords in a search with .edu and or .gov and see what's on offer.

Just by reading their articles and making a quality, authoritative and relevant response in the comments section, you will earn a valued backlink.

Oh, and use your realname, using keywords instead of a real name just pisses people off.

Yes i agree with you that posting comment on .org or .edu links are still helpful for your website ranking but the most important thing is chose your relevant website for putting your comment there. Put informative information there.

How do you go about finding dofollow blog comments? Most of them you come across are no follow.

I agree with you. But with the caveat that you comment on relevant, quality blogs, and you make your comment something that contributes to the conversation. These types of comments are about as close to "white hat" as you can get.

Don't worry about do follow vs. no follow. Find relevant and quality posts to comment on and add to the conversation. This will ensure you both get the comment approved, as well as attract actual targeted traffic from people who read your comment.

Default Inbound and Outbound Links

I am not sure if you are getting my point - spend some time on your blog adding comments using .edu and .gov and .org links to authoritative sites in your niche.

This establishes your blog as a go to place for quality information. Outbound links to authority sites are valuable.

On the inbound front, search using google blogs to find some niche specific blogs and, after you have read the article, you should have a meaningful comment to add.

Use different anchor text or the business owners name - don't use the same anchor text every single time - it looks unnatural.

And remember to do a blog search and add a few links every week or so for a couple of months.

This way, you will have a natural upward curve to your work, and most likely each time you do a search through goolge blogs, you will use slightly different search terms and come up with differing results.

Don't just focus on the first few pages, drill down to page 6 - about 15 and check out these blogs.

Often, some really successful high traffic blogs are not well optimised and lurk further down the rankings.

Actually it's harder to post comments on .edu and .gov sites nowadays. They thought your spamming even with genuine comments. Well, not all of them.

Blog comments are still worth to do........ but basically most oif the blogs are no-follow. And you can't get links easily from .edu or .govt blogs.

Unhappy

yeah, its true blog commenting in .edu/.gov are really effective but now most of them are no follow as well as now moderators are not so flexible. So its quite difficult to get some quality back link from this tricks.

I think what that phrase really meant is the fact that the "quick and easy" way of dropping links in a blog comment is dead.

Blog comment discussions are still definitely alive. But, there are only a handful of them. A good indicator of these blogs are those that have a community of loyal commenters.

Maybe blog commenting works for referral traffic but I wonder what value (if any) it has for SEO.
