Default Search-Engine Spiders

What is search-engine spiders?

As search-engine spiders search the web for information, they are often referred to as search-engine robots or crawlers. Because they can find information much faster than people results appear instantaneously. It can be useful to submit your URL straight to the various search engines as well; but spider-based engines will usually pick up your site regardless of whether or not you've submitted it to a search engine.

You seem to have answered your own question. But I would like to add that search engine spiders are becoming less important as time goes by. What I mean by that is, creating sites that appeal solely to the search engines is now a way to get penalized. Creating sites that appeal to human visitors is now rewarded by search engines more than ever before.

So while spiders are important, they are not the be-all/end-all for a site. Visitors, making them happy, should be the primary focus.

I'd like to draw your attention to the latest Google updates. As well "Panda" as "Penguin" show an interesting development. The time when spiders crawl blind from link to link is over. Unique content is the new key to high ranking! 65% of SEO's were hurt after Penguin, the update targets all the practices that search engine optimizers have been doing for many years, such as getting paid links or spinning content articles and distributing them just to improve their ranking.

So make sure
- that your link structure is natural.
- quality content by pitching news outlets/platforms
- doing press releases
- guest blogging

Default Search-Engine Spiders

Search engine spiders are used by internet search engines to collect information about Web sites and individual Web pages.
The search engines need information from all the sites and pages; otherwise they wouldn’t know what pages to display in response to a search query or with what priority.
