Definitely set Wordpress but on your own domain and hosting. There are really cheap options, you can find some Godaddy coupons and buy domain for like $7 per year and there are some hostings that go for $1 per month. For start that will be more than enough.

That option gives you much more control over everything you do with website. Wordpress is simple yet powerful platform for your website. But you can't use all the potential if you don't set it on your own domain and hosting.

There are so many good and free themes for Wordpress, there is so many plugins, you can monetize it better and you always have to think on the future to have options if your website grows to something bigger.

Many people looked for simplest solution when they started but later on they realised they made the wrong choice. Don't make the same mistake.

Torka actually said it best. To which between the two would be best solely depends on you, your needs and your wants.

Wordpress because it kicks butte. As soon as somebody jumps to your Blogger, they will figure you've done it out of a bedroom.

Okay.

Great idea. I have just begun blogging and it didn't occur to me to do both. I will now. Thanks.

WordPress is the best for blogging even for newbies as it's very simple, easy to mange and user friendly.

I like to add few points:
  • Wordpress is very easy to use, even a novice can manage blog through wordpress.
  • It is search engine friendly, you don't need to bother about these aspects.
  • I have one blog on wordpress and I do not promote this blog anywhere and you won't believe that I still get around 10 visitors per day(Without doing any promotional thing)
That is why I like wordpress.

Make your choice.
