Default Guidance Please

Hola

I just launched a new back end for one of my walkie talkie websites and ever since then the enquiries have slowed down

We re-directed all our previous URLs to the new ones before we launched so we didn't have people landing on the wrong pages, we also have a 404 error page should we have missed anything!

The contact form has not moved as such but it is different and instead it now says "Get in Touch" with an image at the side, I have given you a URL below to go and have a look for me and give your feedback, if you will. The link is a popular product we sell

Motorola CP040

What I would like to know is if you can spot the contact easily enough

Prior to launch we just had a contact form where we now have text, they didn't have to click anything to open the contact form it was just there

Your knowledge will be greatly received

Thanks

Simone x

The first thing that caught my eye was the picture of the Motorola. Next, I spotted the contact form. So it's easily spotted, in my opinion.

What you need is perhaps a call to action? I mean - I got confused, there. If I wanted to buy the Motorola, what should I do? I tried clicking on the picture, but it wasn't a link.

Hola Britt

Not sure why the image is not clickable for you as the whole left menu are links to product categories and the logos next to the home page text are also clickable to the main category of Motorola

What browser are you using and what version so I can make sure we do not have a browser error, although we do test IE from version 6 to Firefox and Safari

Hola Britt

I think I know what page you are on, from the home page you clicked "Motorola" right?

Then you landed on a page with some text and a Motorola image at the top right - this is not clickable no, as I see no point, there is nowhere to direct that link except to the page you are currently on.

The categories under Motorola are displayed and the images and text are clickable, such as Mobile, Portable, Antennas, Earphones, Base Stations etc

I will take what you have said on board, however, these pages are not my standard landing pages - a typical landing page is Motorola GP380

I believe this page has enough call to action with the contact form being top right, perhaps this should be top left?

Thanks again and speak soon

I think it was coincidence, today I am, so far, running at 1 enquiry every 30 minutes

I was worrying about nothing as per usual!

Thanks for your comments, however

Simone

Hi Simone,

I'm glad to hear that you get inquiries now

As for the Motorola landing page, yes, I got to the page, I think, already on my last visit, but maybe I've misunderstood. Are you selling the Motorola? Or only accessories?

I can see a page with technical details about the Motorola, and I can download a sheet about it, but I see no buy now-buttons.

I use a Firefox on Mac.

Hola Britt

That is right, no buy now buttons or add to shopping cart, this website is a brochure, difficult to sell for many reasons and I will not bore you as to why - but there are many applications involved with two way radio that we need to speak with the customer first as what they choose may not be what they need for the job

Ah, I see Now I get it

I guess it's an advantage, too, because if the customer contacts you, he's almost sold on the idea.

Hola Britt

I added a "Request A Quote" button to our products, I think this might be better but would appreciate your comments and anyone else that wishes to give them

Simone

I was checking your site out before, and didn't mention anything because my feedback was pretty much the same as Britt's.

The "Request a Quote" button's a huge improvement in my eyes. If you scroll down to read any details, the "contact us" form is out of view - but the quote button at the bottom of the listing makes it clear what you're supposed to do to purchase.

I see your phone number listed on the site too. If this is a popular contact method, maybe listing it by the quote button, or on the pop-up form would be helpful?

Hope the results come out as good as it looks.
