Question Squeeze Pages And SEO, Do They Mix?

Is it possible to optimize a squeeze page for search engines? I think the limited content would make this difficult, but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks for any help.

HI YellowGorilla!
You can optimize just about anything but a cup of coffee... well, maybe even that. Just that I haven't tried.

You don't mention what business you're in... but why wouldn't you try to optimize it with content in the Title & Meta Description. Those are key to search and getting people to click through.

Also.. your page probably boasts what the person is going to get when they sign up. Be sure to use your key phrases there... and add a little content.

But the short answer is YES! You can and should optimize your squeeze page. Otherwise it's a waste of server space.

Good luck! Hope this helps!

My experience shows it depends on the niche/keyword you are trying to optimize for. If it is highly competitive term then it can be very difficult to get there. Especially if your squeeze page doesn't have sufficient content (text) in it.

As BeTheBest is saying optimizie your Title & Meta Description. I would add optimize the url structure.

domain.com/the-keyword-i-want-to-rank-for.html use dashes for separator if the keyword consists of more than 1 word.

Put the keyword in the beginning of your Title. A lot of people usually put the domain name and then the Title of the website. So instead of

MyWebsite.com | The Keyword I Want to Rank For in Google
use
The Keyword I Want to Rank For in Google | MyWebsite.com

Those are simple things that will not get you very far if you don't have links from authority websites. Or at least relevant thematic websites.

At the end of the day it boils down to how saturated and competitive niche you are in and what is the keyword you are after.

Cheers,
~ Vladimir Hristov

Those are all great ideas.

Here's something else you could do: Write an SEO
friendly article of about 300 to 500 words. Include
an opt-in form with a free offer in the middle of the
article. Make it stand out a bit. You can usually kill
two birds with one stone with that approach.

I thought I knew all the SEO terms but I give up... what's a 'squeeze page'?
