Default Could This Idea Be Turned Into A Online Business?

Hi everyone!

I'm computer and internet savvy and love surfing the web for all kinds of information and I particularly love finding undiscovered or unusual websites, products etc. Also, people have always ask me "where to find" this and "how to do" this either on the computer or on the internet. And i had to show them how to do a search and how to pick the most relevant websites..Things like that. So my question are: Can i turn this into some kind of online business? Is there such thing called professional web surfer? Is this kind of business feasible? And what's the best way to get started?

Any ideas is appreciated. Thanks
Cleona.

Hi, I think you can create a website compiling and presenting the information you describe and then earn income from advertisements displayed on the site (such as Google Adsense).

For example, research what people search for using a free tool like Wordtrackers - http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/

Enter the keyword [how to do] and you will find a variety of the most popular things people search for how to do. If you can create the best website about those things, likely there will be advertisers willing to pay to get in front of your audience

Welcome aboard, Cleona

We think that is a great idea! One of my family members were looking for a specific matchbox car and couldn't find it anywhere including the dealership. A friend who is like you, found it online for her.

Welcome to the forum. Yes I could see this as being feasible. Like Logan said, more than likely you could make decent money from adsence, just make sure you optimize your keywords.

Smile Good Idea

Yes you can turn it into a business. You can charge by the hour or the project. Advertise that you will be saving people valuable time and energy.

Unless you get loads of hits, Google Adsense doesn't bring in much money.

Hi Cleona,

Have you considered Virtual Assistance? As a Virtual Assistant, you can offer internet research services (and any other services that you're interested in providing, like admin tasks, bookkeeping, writing, etc.) and charge by the hour or by the project, whichever works out better for you.

Good luck,

Tammi

To your question about hour or task.... IMO... most people get scared when you say you are going to charge them by the hour. I recommend by task.

Average out the time it takes to provide your service and charge by the task.
