Angry Help! what small business marketing strategy works to get top rank?

Hi there!

I got sites for my clients, and I'm just wondering what strategy for small business marketing really works? These site have have products that they sell and I want them to have really good traffic but their keywords have a lot of competing sites. I do bookmarking also but the keyword phrase I want to rank for got stuck at number 5 on google.

I just want to know what strategy to use that will get them customers fast and at the same time get their keywords at the top.

Thanks

Quality Content + Hungry Target Market + Time

That's pretty much the only formula that is going to work over the long haul. It's not glamorous, but it works.

Concentrate on helping your clients deliver what their target market wants and the sales will materialize.

I agree with RadioGirl.

I'd also add that you have to really know who your target audience is, what their true motivations are (what bugs them, what are they afraid of, what do they desire for the future) and then create your marketing content around those themes.

For example, people don't really want to lose weight to be healthier. They really want what they get BECAUSE they are healthier. Maybe they will feel sexier, more confident or they will be able to spend better quality time with their kids.

When you know what will really motivate them, you can focus all of your marketing time energy and money there.

Hope this helps.

Yes, just a couple of high quality backlinks (PR4 or better) may do the trick. You could also use Squidoo, Hubpages, Blog comments, Social Media, Article Marketing; they all help.

article marketing. One of my sites has been on the front page for nearly every keyword for nearly 3 years thanks to article marketing.

Social bookmarking and social media sites are good marketing strategies because of the huge number of members of the site. Quality link building is also a good way of promoting a website.

I agree. Backlinks is the key. Comment on blog posts, join social media networks, do link sharing with other web sites... there are a million ways to create back links, you just have to put the work in. It's not a get-there-quick deal.
