Default Promoting Your Website With Flyers?

Has anyone tried promoting their website with flyers?
Was it worth it or a waste of money? Any tips on how to succeed with this form of advertising?

If it offers a local service then I think that it would otherwise what's the point of letting Jack down the street know if your customer could be in China?

I have never tried promoting my website though flyers, but I think it can be a good or bad idea depending on your industry...My specific industry, crime scene cleanup, it really doesn't make a lot of sense and can even be seen as a little tacky, but if I was selling something like cars then I would probably do it...

Flyers only targets local audiences and it is only applicable for websites who targets a smaller scale of people. Of course still it is yet another source of traffic but not as wide scale or coverage as the online and TV ads does.

I'd have to say that the cost would decided the effectiveness of the advertising, if you do offer a local service then it's more worthwhile than if you don't but if it cost very much at all I say the money is better spent in web or even radio/tv advertising.

I personally would think that passing out business cards to people you meet in your area should have the same effect as any flyer over the long term and since you should have business cards anyway it opens up that budget for PPC advertising etc.

I haven't tried it but I guess this will be good if you're targeting local audience. I don't know its effectiveness as flyers these days are having auto ignore like other advertisement ideas...

Definitely good if you're local audience is the target.

Make sure you use some type of landing page that greets the people who visit your site by way of the flier. Offer them some sort of cornerstone article if you have one.

What exactly are your goals in this project?

Flyers should be used for local businesses

I have use flyers and I have noticed the issue is not about using it or not but how good or bad is the copywriting. How you get the attention of your prospect is what make the flyer successful.

Regards,

Jose
