Default Would Be Nice To Have 3 Links In Signatures!

Hi,

There is a limit of 2 links in signatures. It would be nice to have 3 links. I have 3 websites that I would like to add on my signature and it's been hard to choose which ones to add.
This is a great forum by the way with lots of interesting topics.

it would be nice there is three signature option...but i guess admin and moderators does not want to encourage spammers and so they have restricted it to two signatures...

Well, maybe allowing 3 links in the sig would encourage people to post more often??? Who knows!!

Hi guys, thanks for throwing up the suggestions and feedback. We are all ears and its good to hear from you regarding anything along these lines.

Good guess, but really that isn't a reason that carries a lot of weight as I don't think there would be much difference between the amount of spammers with 2 versus 3 links. Spammers are going to exist regardless of 2 or 3, imo. We try to handle that side of things and not have them dictate how things work here. We always carry these too ...

We made the decision of 2, when we first started about 5 years ago. And it has been that way since. I don't remember there being a particular reason besides it is just what we thought was best. There were two primary considerations, I do remember. (1) We wanted to provide it as a benefit to members for contributing (2) But... we wanted there to be some limits so when reading the forum the content wasn't dominated/overwhelmed by signature links. I would say the limit of 2 has to do with usability/readibility, partly, imo.

We're all ears, as always ... keep the feedback coming. But I would not anticipate this is something we will be changing anytime soon.

I think having 2 links in the signature is sufficient. If it's more than two, It'll look like spamming the forum. Its a nice forum and our responsibility is to make it good through discussion. I am also a newbie here but when I was searching, I found the same. I did go through it and find a well formed forum, where I can put my ideas here.
Allvira,

The reason I asked is because I have 3 websites that I'd like to add on my signature and I was struggling to choose 2 to put on my sig.
Most forums do allow 3 links, so this wasn't an issue before.

2 is good enough because we don`t want to attract spammers. I don`t think increasing the limit to 3 would make users to post more.

Default Two links are enough

Hi fellows:
I read out the discussion that how much links should be allowed in the forum as signatures. I think, two links are more than enough. Users should try to adjust their links within two signatures.
