Default WordPress Has Come So Far!

I just launched a real estate website for a client built totally on WordPress. It took tons of plugins & customizations, but what a great affordable solution for my client who needs to update listings frequently. I am very impressed with all we were able to accomplish through WordPress and the level of SEO available.

Isn't it awesome?

It's all I really recommend to my clients these days in terms of a blogging platform--and it's also great as a straight website.

The plugins are one of the best things about it in terms of the flexibility and functionality they give...and the development community behind it means it's always being updated and kept on the cutting edge.

I've installed & customized several blogs, but this was the first time I used it for a static site. The clients had a prior site that was so poorly planned they had to rely on their web designer to make listing updates for them at a whopping $75.00 per hour. The designer had a minimum charge, so every update was at least $75.00. I was a little nervous about the SEO aspect, but the SEO plugins and the fact that you can choose to have your javascript & CSS load externally took care of that concern.

My clients hated to spend the money to create a new site (the other one was only a couple of months old) but they are tremendously happy with the outcome. No ongoing costs...

Totally agree about wordpress, its excellent for most sites. Especially if you install the SEO oddons. Ok, you might get alot of spam if you dont protect your site from it, but seems ideal for an SEO site.

I have 4 Wordpress blogs at the moment and would never go back to the old static pages any more.

Let me join the fan club. WordPress just rocks.

The only major concern used to be going through constant updates in order to avoid hackers taking over your blog. With automatic updating now it is a matter of seconds to stay as protected as you can be.

If you also arrange automatic emails of the database backups, then you should be in a good position to recover if anytime there is a problem.
