Default Google Images

Has anybody out there managed to get one of their images/product images listed in google images.I am just wondering if it is totally up to google and they pick what they like or whether there are some things you can do to help an image get picked up.In my case i have a dragon design mirror that i make and would like to try and get it listed under 'dragon' images.Thanks,Ron.

This probably isn't an answer, but one or two times Google images picked up an image I put on my blog (just graphic illustration, not product) and I got hundreds of hits because of that. Which was useless to me because the people weren't at all interested in my writing ...
The images were classic pieces of art, maybe that's why it happened. But I got them from Google in the first place!

The "alt" attribute is very important, so make sure you are using that. Here's a short video by Matt Cutts (Head of Google's spam team) that may be helpful: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/matt-v...es-for-images/

Yes, i was wondering whether it had to be a piece of art in the classical sense, yet when i scrolled through them there were some photos in there. Will check out that video and thanks for replying to both of you,Ron.

Good advise on getting your pictures on Google. I have also had a pretty hard time in the past getting our pictures listed by Google. I like video ktaylor, very informative...

I get many visitors from Google Images. I use to populate the ALT tag with the keywords that I want to optimize for.

Hi vortex, I visited your site and noticed you're using underscores for separating your words. There seems to be an argument that dashes are better, yet some say they're not, but you might want to test it out. Here's a link I found on the argument for using dashes: http://www.michaelwong.com/seo/dash-or-underscore

Might want to give it a shot on a few images. I'd be interested to see the outcome.

I noticed the other day, google images picked up lots of our images from our portfolio pages. Was a nice surprise.

We do submit our sitemap regularly to google, and have a google webmaster tools account, which could be the reason why.
