Default MAximizing Show Results

Good morning, I am new on the board and have a question.

We are int he personalized Stationery business largley wedding invitations and accessories. We will be exhibiting in some bridal shows this fall.

The shows are of the 1 exhibitor per classification ie we are the only invitation shop there. The show numbers are not really high on the order of 150 people per show give or take.

Are there any ideas on how to maximize the results from the show?

Consumers today are being real conservative in their purchasing. Thus, for them to find interest in your offerings and pay for your services, you have to set yourself apart. Be unique and different to get their intertest - then offer them a precieved cost savings that will get them to buy.

I would try offering a show only price something like a discount or find something that doesn't cost you anything and offer it for free. People hear the word free and tend to jump. But remember you're in business to make money!

I would giveaway something but the catch is they have to fill out a information card with name, phone number, and email address. you can then make a viral newsletter filled with wedding tips, etc... and email these leads. Even if they don't buy from you instantly there are always baby showers, birthday parties, etc.. that they need invitations for.

Default Set-up & pre show planning

I would recommend a few things - determine the point of entry to the show and try to stay on the right side of the room and right side of the aisle since most people tend to walk that way. Next, do not put your table in the front of the area - put it in the rear so that you are between the aisle and yoru information. Also, since most show attendees grow a little eye in the side of their head so they can look for what you are giiving away without looking you in the eye, place some of your nicer print pieces on a easle board near the end of your booth & not where your people will be standing. You will fnd that many people who would not normally stop wll go to the easle, look at your pieces and then come back to talk to you. Want to give something? Maybe have a garter with an informaton card attached. They fill out the card with their information and you give them the garter. Or some other appropriate giveaway (but keep them on the table at the back of the booth.) Other idea, if you can get a pre-show attendee list, print an invitation and send it to them with the show information and an invitation to your booth.

Default Appeal To Their Emotions

You want to make sure you have an eye-catching display that not only get's the attention of people, but also appeals to their emotions. Therefore you should have some graphics that express how your invitations will help to make their wedding perfect.

One idea would be to show a picture of friends and relatives looking at the invitation with excitement and happiness for the happy couple. Another idea would be to show the bride and groom mailing the envelopes with satisfaction on their face. In short, the graphics on your display stand must appeal to their emotions and give them something to relate to.
