Exclamation 7 Things I've Learned About Twitter

I've been involved with Twitter for approximately 1 month now, and I've learned a few things that have enabled me to use Twitter very effectively:

1. You need to have a clear and concise vision how you're going to use Twitter. You need to know going in exactly what you want from Twitter. Are you going to use Twitter as a serious business tool, or for casual, social purposes? What is your end game? To read the rest of this article click here.

What I found using twitter is that all you need to know is to write 140 characters pitch.... and it works for sure!

Some great tips there David, I will come and seek you out on Twitter!

I really relate to your comment about not following everyone... There seems to be such a push at the moment towards having 50,000 followers. It's like everyone is selling that ebook and driving people towards that goal before they even get a chance to question it!

I have been playing with Twitter as a traffic source for a year now and compared to my other traffic sources it actually has a low conversion rate and your real goal should be to Maintain 10 Valuable Relationships on Twitter where there is a genuine exchange of help and advice. If you can maintain those 10 relationships for a whole month, then look at sacking the bottom (less valuable) ones and seek out 10 others.

Default change my phrasing

It'll be a good idea to register your own domain name for your twitter profile.
Say if your name is bob, you can register tweetbob.com and direct to your twitter profile. Its a whole lot easier to put on your namecards or to get them to remember and connect with you...
