Like any business - it does take time. Affiliate programs are a numbers games - thus you have to get your numbers up (meaning traffic). This takes times as you site is one in ???? (how many billion sites on the web). Just stick to it and your efforts will pay off.

Personally, I have found that my website doesn't matter as much as 1) the size of the market I am targeting and 2) whether or not I have chosen the right product to meet the needs of that market. I've had sales in as little as 7 days when I have the right product for a large market, and no sales for months with the wrong product/market.

I don't know why, my site doesn't get enough traffic I hope for. Any ideas from your personal view.

When I first started it took me about a week to make money. That was when it was easy to advertising on craigslist, now I can't even advertise on there, for some reason they ghost my ads. I made a little over $200 my first month only using craigslist. Now I am using social networks and other sites like backpage.com to get traffic to my site.

Affiliate programs do take a lot of time before they start paying of. One needs to be patient enough to see the the results coming. I had started working on such programs a month ago and now i could see my hard work being paid of.
I am still working on them and hope to increase my income gradually.

Affiliate marketing takes a lot of work and patience.The best would be doing link building for your site and posting as many press releases as possible.
