How To Do SEO For Home Improvement Website?
Hi Guys,
I'm Alex and newbie in the world of Search Engine Optimization.
Recently, I'm trying to improve ranking of my uPVC Doors website.
It's a home improvement website. Has anyone ever worked on any such kind of home improvement website? How is this niche to get good ranking for a particular website?
Hope, I will get some good suggestions over here?
Thanks...

Select the right keywords suits for business and optimize your site with those keywords.
Follow the on page SEO tips for better optimization and then promote your site with social networking sites, directories, ads, Press and get good links for your website in your niche website....

You don't need any special optimization strategies for a home improvement website than what you'd use for any other site on any other subject.
BTW, "home improvement" is way too broad a category to be considered a "niche." If you're trying to get high rankings for general/generic terms like "home improvement," be prepared to spend a LOT of time and even more money in the attempt.
Your first step needs to be keyword research. Find phrases being used by your target audience when they're searching specifically for what you have to offer. Start with less-competitive phrases (certainly less competitive than "home improvement") and build up from there.

Hi Alex,
I have checked your website and it's title. And, I think you are on the right track. Conservatories, uPVC doors, etc... are good keywords for your website instead of "Home Improvement".

You need to do more work on your external links
I reviewed your website, form a competitive perspective (opportunity to rank well) and from an on page and off page SEO perspective.
First, your niche is an excellent niche to compete in. There is a significant amount of daily search traffic, and a fairly low volume of competitors.
Your on page SEO is excellent, so I wouldn't do much more on that front. I looked at your backlinks (external links), and there is a lot more that you could be doing here.
The links you currently have are coming from about 4 different websites. You will need to get many more backlink sources.
Your current backlinks do not seem to have any keyword anchor text (other than on this post), so basically they are simply pointing at your home page. For any further linking make sure that you are using your most important keywords as anchor text. I guess the only other suggestion is to make sure that you are not always using the same anchor text. Mix up your keywords. Google likes this better.
Wishing you Success!!!

since you're the owner, I suggest focusing on its content first. As we all say that "content is king" - I believe in that. Its like the personally of your website.
I you're personality is real good then knowing other people/website will not be a problem to you.

Hi,
I have checked title and content of your website. I think you are on the right track. Keywords like conservatories, Double Glazing are better than home improvement keywords.

Hi Alex,
I have studied your website and found few positives and negatives as well.
Positives: You have very good selection of keywords. It has Google PR 2 which is great.
Negatives: Page Title is too long,Meta Description is too long, too many images,
inbound links are not there.
If you remove the negatives your ranking will improve.
Hope this will help you.
Best wishes.

Hi There Alex, I would also recommend creating a blog (wordpress, blogger, etc) and host it on your site. Then fire away bookmarking your posts.
