Exclamation SEO Scams: 15 Ways To Avoid Them

What qualifies companies to be SEO experts is competence. And the way you find out if a company is competent as well as legitimate is to check their credentials thoroughly, by exercising good old common sense and following these steps.

Default Always go with a professional

I believe it is best to always hire a professional to do the SEO work. Many website owners think they can do the work themselves but only to realize that it is harder to rank as it requires many hours and time to get rank for serious traffic.

I agree SEO is a long-term game. It requires lot of strategies and hours of work to apply them to see some good results.

Also, you need to maintain your rankings. So SEO should be considered on an ongoing basis.

Thanks for the information everyone! Does anyone know a good SEO company that they have had a good experience with? Any input is appreciated.

I think setting a goal with the SEO company in one month is enough for you to evaluate if they are scammer.

thats really good information, but the truth is that seo companies are just another way to out source things you can do yourself. Or pay a (competent) small guy to do it for you.

Also only use online payments such as paypal, or alertpay. That way if the people do try to scam you you can get a full refund by submitting a complaint

I had read the guides and one thing that we also need to consider is if the company that we hire are using black hat tactics, we should always be informed on all the actions that they were doing for our website and this will enable us to have a total control over things.

it is my feeling that SEOs are often contracted prior to a reasonable evaluation of what they really do and what benefit their services will have on your business. If you really want to make a splash, hire a good marketing firm with a long history of success (ideally a history that pre-dates search engines). They will find ways to get people to your site without waving the false hope of search engine rankings in your face.
