Default Web Design Tip #1 - Reader's Digest Is NOT Just A Bathroom Book

If you are looking for great ideas for a web design, check out a copy of the Reader's Digest. No kidding!

Most experts agree that people turn to the internet to get information quickly. For this reason, it is not a good idea to create a home page that scrolls and scrolls and scrolls. Keeping pages short can be a challenge though, and creating pages that are visually interesting when you do not have a lot of text even more so.

I have found that thumbing through a copy of Reader's Digest can be a great source of inspiration. Since stories & articles tend to be short, the editors have gone to extra lengths to make sure the pages are visually appealing. Through the creative use of "call-outs", fonts and graphics, Reader's Digest has designed individual pages to look great regardless of the amount of text.

Look & learn!
