Exclamation Is Pay-Per-Click Advertising Killing You?

Over the last few years pay-per-click advertising has gotten increasingly more competitive and much more expensive.

The days of paying 10 cents for a prime keyword are long gone.

Nowadays, ppc requires a substantial investment. And if you don't know what you're doing you can lose a ton of money.

In that regard, before you enter the ppc arena, I suggest you take time to study the ppc market and learn how to make it work to your advantage with Perry Marshall's "Definitive Guide to Google Adwords."

If you're serious about ppc advertising, I consider it a worthwhile investment.

And just for the record, I don't make a dime if you purchase the book. This is just another fundamental marketing tip.

Yep, you need a huge budget for PPC and can still blow the budget in hours without getting any sales, unless you know exactly what you are doing. So far, I have managed without PPC but if i decide to get into it, I would sure read all I can before spending any money on keywords.

I have used ppc, but I don't think I have made more than I have spent.I have only run local ads,I can see if you were running ads all over the country how it could really be very expensive.
I have also noticed that is sometimes hard to tell from the website software if it is ppc or not.

the main thing that's burns me up is people looking for a job and clicking on your ads that cost you 4-5 bucks each time.

Fortunately, I'm in a position where I no longer have to depend on paid advertising.

I focus all my time and energy on article marketing.

There's a lot more to the PPC world than Google. Granted, they're the 800 pound gorilla, but networks like Adbrite can be a great alternative on a small budget.

PPC can work on a smaller budget - the trade off is more work from targeting less-traffic, long-tail phrases that don't cost an arm and a leg.

It still comes down to knowing what you're doing.

Regardless of what PPC channel you choose to use, you have to educate yourself on marketing techniques or you will fail - period!

David do you write for just yourself, or do also write for others?

On occassion, I do write for others, depending on the project, but I don't come cheap.

If you want to discuss this further, feel free to drop me a PM.
