Lightbulb Controlling Your Page Ranking

If you were able to pay a small flat rate for a system that would improve the page ranking of your existing website would you be interested?

Personally, no. It is against Google's guidelines to manipulate pagerank. If it worked well at the beginning, many would start to use it and it would be on Google's radar eventually thus potentially hurting my rankings in the long run ... even if there were benefits seen at the beginning

i would test it on some small sites but would need to fully understand it before thinking about applying it to sites generating business.

I would definitely if it really works, authentic and is credible.

Just like a system that would bring you top rankings by just subscribing.

Page rank really is irrelevant. The whole goal is to get traffic, targeted traffic that converts to leads and sales.

Page rank is just a nice by-product in terms of SEO, but you should focus on targeted traffic first...and not worry about PR.

Questions:

- How would this system improve page rank?

- Are you talking about the page rank shown in the Google info bar?

- What would be the purpose - to help a site become more successful or to make an SEO's efforts appear to be more successful?

What could possibly be done at this point to automatically raise the rank of your site without being penalized by Google? It's all been tried. Not me. Google's goal is to rank sites with quality/relevant information. That is the only sensible path to follow.

Are you talking about improving PageRank (Google's measure of the number and weight of links pointing at a page) or rankings -- i.e. where a page shows up in the search results?

I would be keen to find out. But i don't think i will jump straight in as PR may have only little effect on traffics. Have seen pages with little PR performing better than some with higher numbers.

Never.
Simply because my competitors will follow the same path and therefore the importance of using good content and good SEO work will inevitably lose its significance.
