I have done quite a lot of article writing and submitted it to article directories such as ezinearticles.com and articlefactory.com . i learnt that it is a great way to promote your website and also get more links to it. takes a bit of time, but it is quite fun and easier when you get used to it.

Agreed. Article writing is also a form of advertising and promoting your website. Just like you sad, it takes quite some of your time and patience before it really pays off. Nice job.

Article writing can be good if you can get your article on the right sites. But, article writing is even better if those articles are on YOUR site and you use the social media to promote them and get links to them from other sites.

Keep in mind that if you use the same article over and over again then it's just duplicate content and your links won't really be counted (as much). So, writing articles can be helpful to a certain extent; but they're not as helpful as they used to be.

It will be interesting to see if over time G devalues those links as it's clearly doing with directories at this stage. When one door closes another may open.

Is the link from article directories more valuable than say links from other normal website directories?

You can also use services to distribute your article so that it reaches more sites, creates more links, saves you time. The one I am using is articlemarketer.com and they are very cost effective.

It depends which article directories you submit to. If you submit to say exinearticlea adn articlefactory for example which has a good page rank, it is more valuable than most other directories. the article site has also content related to your site which makes it more valuable in search engines eyes.

Try DE-OPTIMIZING your content a little bit because it may out rank your actual website as well.

Just work on the back links for them.

Yes make your article just for backlinks, also be aware of keywords in your article.

Ya.. I agree that blog posting will give positive effect to your site, but content of the post should be the unique one.
