Default Marketing Vs Profit?

I was curious to how much marketing could improve a stores profits as a percentage. Maybe if some folks could tell me their average increase that could help me determine my potential.

I currently have an online website that profits 5k a year net with little to no marketing other then viral and a myspace account haha.

I'm just curious as to what I could look forward to assuming I market correctly and given other forum members before after comparitive figrures?

I'm assuming it's not impossible to double online profits with the right marketing? Does this happen?

Thanks a bunch everyone

Yes, you can double online profits with the right marketing...

But...

So much of marketing depends on different factors - how targeted your marketing tactic is, how responsive the market is, how effective your message is and how it is presented to the target...

That's where research, testing and patience come into play.

Some efforts will bomb and some will take you into the stratosphere...only experience will reveal which efforts will be most effective for you...of course once you find your best tactics then you can wash, rinse and repeat :-) (But you'll have to keep testing after you've found your winning combination because consumers are a fickle lot and the way one responds does change over time)

Cool thanks for the input. I also just founda site called statcounter that can help gather statistics for these different techniques.

Thanks

You can have the best product in the world but if nobody knows about it, it won't sell.

Marketing is the vital key to the success of most businesses. If you want really push your stores sales I would make this the most important task on your agenda.

Good luck and I hope you do well.

your hard work will give more return.
But, how to find is important !

You earn 5K selling something with no marketing at all.(Congratulations) As you did not mention WHAT you sell nor anything about your market it is impossible to say anything about it. If you want to get more specific information you will have to give more.

I think 5K a month just myspace account without
objective is great income. People here, working
5-6 hours a day with pre-written plan and goals
putting whole effort in online are unable to earn
much as they want.

Your income volume is not bad, generally 30% who has
website, but not generating single sales, because they did
not find the place to their best spot.

If understand your market deeply, then you can easily double or triple your profits with some good marketing.

If your current efforts are all online, then I suggest that you combine offline marketing with online marketing. If you sell to a tightly defined niche market, and there are magazines geared towards this market, then you can start off by placing small display ads and classified ads in those magazines. Start testing!
