Default How Do You Get Myspace To Work For You?

I've heard people say that Myspace is a good advertising venue. I tried a few months ago and had very little success. I created a myspace account, joined groups, and posted in classifieds. No luck.

How do you get myspace to work for you?

Default myspace

MySpace is a social networking site. You need to network, start a blog. Talk up your product or service. I would research through google, myspace users with similar products or services so you can find new avenues to sell, new markets to penetrate or just people talking up you product.

Myspace is not best for businesses; it is better for musicians, artists, phtographers and promoters.

If you want to get involved in a business networking site, try Linkedin.com

I haven't had much luck with Myspace, either. I think it's because it's more for socializing than doing business. I have had better luck with forums like this one, blogs, and professional networking sites like Biznik, LinkedIn, Ecademy, and others. Find out where your target audience hangs out online and join them there!

I work as a consultant with quite a few bicycle retailers. We are experimenting with asking consumers of the shop to become friends of the shop (either MySpace or Facebook.) Then shop events can be sent to the friends, and the friends can tell others of rides, etc. I'll try to report in a month or so as to how this works out.

First step would be to research what your audience is looking for

Try to keep your profile more on the personal level versus a sales pitch

Build your friends network- get as many new friends as possible , check the links below for quick ways to get this done.

Start contacting those friends and comment something nice about their profile while putting a link to your website in the comment field at the end. This will get you a lot more people exposed to your site link because it will be visible to all that person's friends and so on and so forth.

When you design your profile do so with care- give a little eye candy ( graphics) but do not overload the profile with them. Keep it easy to read yet interesting. Think when you are done and look at it, would I stay here for a while or move on if I came to this profile?

Stay in touch with your friends use the blog option often this is another great way to pitch new products or services.

If you are a public speaker, musician etc where you do public appearances or seminars add a section to your profile for booking information as well as a section for upcoming events.

Just get creative and have fun with MySpace but most of all keep it real.

I agree. Myspace won't help your business at all. Try promoting your business through blog and forums.
