I am getting lots of traffic from the signatures at the forums. Are you using and getting traffic from the signatures at various forums?

Not much, sadly. Have found the forum posting and reading more valuable than the resulting traffic. This is just about the opposite result than I was expecting when I registered, however. Glad you've found success with traffic though!

I get some traffic from forums however; I just like forums for the knowledge I gain.

Its a mixed bag for me. I'm relatively new to this particular forum, but have seen traffic from other forums I have used. Yes, a unique name works quite well. Helps you stand out in addition to a signature.

Forums truly help to boost traffic. Same goes with blogs commenting, direct link exchange with other webmasters, and social bookmarking.

The main advantage I see from having your site linked in multiple forum sigs is to increase the amount of back links to your site therefore increasing page ranking.
