My opinion: Unless you have a tremendous amount of traffic you won't get enough out of it to warrent directing your customer away from your website. Google ads are a bit more successful, but still just a trickle of small change unless you have traffic.

I agree! The 10 cent-$1.50 clicks on google ads add up over time. Granted one click for some thing like a hosting package might pay $100+ (if they sign up) but it takes 1000's if not 10,000 or so visitors to make the money.

IMHO Amazon has some good looking ads.......that don't make me any money.

Try putting your ads in your post (if you are a blogger). If you talk about a product (review) then people might click on the ad.

What about the amazon in China, I'm expanding in china later and I heard that amazon had annexed one chinese local sell book online company. Will it be easier to get success with amazon.cn affiliate?

Conversion rates are low and can only be mitigated by having huge volumes of traffic. If your site is only getting a few thousand hits per month you can't make any serious money with affiliates.

I depends what you are selling. I find that Amazon can be great depending on how you target your customers and what you are selling. For instance if you owned a social network and the person said that they love Mountain Bikes, showing them an affilate ad for mountain bikes and or products would work if you have enough traffic.

I don't think Amazon alone is the answer to making a profitable site, but you can make some good extra cash by using them. I find it is ALOT better than google adwords. Adwords used to be great.

I don't make any money with the amazon affiliate. But it is a nice content filler on my site. I recommend books through it and people can see what I read and then find more out by clicking through to Amazon, which is convenient. But I like the looks and the content that attract more traffic for other ads on my site.

I've tried using the Amazon affiliate program a few years ago, but I didn't get much success with it.

Hey,

Has anyone tried Amazon aStore? Is it worth to use aStore instead of banner or widgets?
