Default Net Neutraility

I had never heard of this before - I found this to be quite fascninating and being of interest to small business as well. I was surprised that we as bloggers, or webmasters are at risk of loosing the capabilities of what is put online and what is shown. I was a bit surprised that I had not heard about it more.

Yes - big issue. Tiered access could effectively freeze out small internet operators.

The network neutrality debate has been around for some time. Wiki has a pretty thorough page about network neutrality.

I wouldn't go running for the hills just yet. Something like NN isn't going to all of a sudden be run through government without massive media attention. You'll know if/when the fire really starts cooking.

I did read that on the wiki - I just had never heard of it before, must have had my head in the clouds. I found it interesting and I know there are newbies hitting the scene's all the time and thought they'd like to be informed. Makes interesting reading and quite educational.

Yes, an important issue. Hopefully we can have faith in those who's hands are involved in this and the previous rational thinking will prevail. I think there are many beyond newbies that are not familiar with the issues that could arise. I think many of them would even be unintended consequences.

I stand pretty confident that people would oppose this so strongly if it actually became a (much more) serious issue that those in favor would have no choice but to resign their efforts
