Default Trust-worthy Marketing

I have seen so many places on the web that offer to bring you say 30-50K visitors a month for only $50/month. Most of these sites are not listed with the BBB and its hard to know whether or not this traffic is worth the cost. Any advice on this would be great.

If you only had to pay per month I'd probably try it once as an experiment.

If it brought me that many visitors and i could convert them into cash over the month, then I'd certainly include that in my marketing.

Of course, you can't believe everything you read. But I suppose $50 isn't too much money to waste to find out. The problem is that most people want an annual subscription before you get the $50per month price point.

Scott, I'm familiar with what you're talking about. They're called Guaranteed Traffic Programs, and it's a SCAM!

How do I know? Because I've tested these programs - for myself and for my clients. I knew going in the programs didn't work. Common sense told me that. But I wanted to make sure I did my homework before I reported on this scam. Anyway, here's the company I purchased the traffic from:

http://adminder.com/traffic

Here are the results of those tests:

On four different ocassions, for four different clients, I purchased 10,000 supposedly targeted pop-under ads for $89 from Adminder, the most popular of the guaranteed traffic programs. I then sat back and observed.

Approximately thirty days and over 40,000 visitors later, my clients had made zero sales. None! Nada! Zilch! My own personal results were just as dismal.

Why no sales? Because the quality of traffic was absolutely horrendous. Let me explain:

All four of the aforementioned clients gave me full access to their raw data logs. Guess what I discovered. All of the traffic was coming from poor and impoverished third world countries and porn sites. Even more telling was the fact that the average time each visitor stayed on each site was mere seconds - in some cases, milli-seconds. In other words, they were simply clicking on the URL and then leaving immediately.

So if you've been thinking about purchasing an e-mail blast or guaranteed traffic program, I implore you... DON'T! As the saying goes, "garbage in, garbage out!"

You've been warned. Remember, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't."

Keep in mind - Having loads of visitors doesn't necessarily convert into loads of visitors for you. You've got to entice them to click over.

And if you are pondering placing a banner with a site, ask yourself this - How oftern do you clikc on a banner?

A banner ad campaing should be considered as an image ad campaign which over the long haul builds brand image awareness. Meaning the more people "SEE" your banner, the more familiar they become with your brand image, thus building awareness, and eventutllay trust which hopefully results in new sales.

That's my 2 cents !

On a different note, being listed with the BBB has nothing to do with anything. The BBB is a for-profit agency that sells memberships. There is a public perception that they are some kind of government affiliated watchdog but they will list just about anyone as long as you are willing to pay their membership dues. I think it is a good form of marketing but will really tell you little about a company's credibility or ability to deliver results.

Don't go for it is my advice, we have used some of the guaranteed traffic programs. The only thing that seems to do anything at all is there search engine submission. Its a total waste of money indeed.

Yes, I agree with the post above. That this is a scam and a waste of money.

I think they use computer bots, they probably have hundreds and thousands of bots. So they command these bots to visit your page and then leave.

Like said before, 1000 clicks for 1 sale is just the same as 1 click to make a sale.

It's a scam. I've tried out one of these sites before that claimed they purchased old domain names and redirected their traffic to their customers' sites. It doesn't work - I didn't receive the traffic that was promised and the traffic that I did receive was simply computer bots.
