Question Facebook Beacon - Any Concerns?

Have any of you heard about the concerns regarding Facebook's Beacon program? Any concerns about it?

I have heard a few concerns, concerning personal privacy issues. I think initially, there was no opt-out or even knowledge of it's use by users. However if I am not mistaken, users can now opt-out which should abate some of the initial concerns.

Default RE: Facebook Beacon

I remember when this first debuted how angry Facebook users (like me) were because They were not told about it. All of a sudden, data that users never thought would be shared was being put on friend feeds.

As soon as I found out, I opted out of it. I also let my friends know that their purchases are showing up on my feed if they did not know already...And yes, they immediately changed their privacy settings so it wouldn't happen again!

I think the opt out option is better, but really believe that with privacy issues the user should have to opt in by default. I don't think most even consider this, so opt out is an easy way to get around the matter without reducing the number involved drastically.
