Default Increase The Visibility Of Your Small Business Web Site On A Shoestring Budget

Authored by: David Wallace

Full Text: http://www.searchengineguide.com/wal.../0906_dw1.html

A Snippet:

Search marketing has become an expensive endeavor. This is especially true if you are in any kind of a competitive industry. Good search engine optimization can be pricey (we charge $200 an hour). As pay per click advertising continues to attract more and more advertisers, the cost of bidding on keywords will continue to rise as well. Most web directories and other web site listing services now charge for inclusion where it used to be free. The list goes on and on. So how does a company with practically no budget compete in an online world?

Thumbs up Nice headline

Nice headline, its a perfect application of the

"something you want" + "much easier/cheaper than you ever thought possible"

I'll go read the article now

After reading it I'd like to add that you can get $50 free PPC from Yahoo, and microsoft? Also you can get another 25 (or 50) free PPC from google if you have bought the book 4 hour work week. (there is a promotional code in it.)

Nice addition, solid28. The only downfall in direct relation to the article is that PPC does not help them establish long term visibility unless they "add to" their budget after the credits are used up.

However, it is a good way to test PPC when someone is starting out and I feel as a small business begins to see some positive results from their initial efforts, they should most certainly consider throwing more money at advertising.

Good article David

On a shoestring like that, I'd also recommend writing up a some different articles (keeping keyword research top of mind) and submit them to a few of the popular article web sites.
