Default The Growing Trend Of "Green" Business

I recently viewed this article titled "Start A Green Business" this weekend and thought it would be a great topic for discussion as this is such a growing trend in business today.

One particular mention in the article that I found to be quite true was this excerpt:
Quote:
"Green products is an area that can be heavily driven by word-of-mouth and by happy customers passing on their experiences to other people. "Get your customers to be your best promoters."
And I agree with the article's suggestion that the reason for this is due to the passion that is behind the entrepreneurial spirit driving green business. In addition to that, I feel another reason for the heavily driven word-of-mouth marketing regarding green products is that those seeking them posess a strong, personal interest in the matter.

They truly DO CARE. . .and when they've found a product or service that is truly beneficial to this area - their passion and true interest in the subject is what drives the word-of-mouth marketing.

Default Starting a Green Business

Hi,

I agree with what the a article says. This market is growing by leaps and bounds, and people are willing to pay a little more for things that are natural/organic.

There will definitely be a passion within the entrepreneur who is selling these types of products. It will probably be more of a "natural sell" - you'd be talking about this anyway

I have just finished a free ecourse on starting up a natural business - whether it's organic cloth diapers or organic foods. It was a great course. The author offers a course to help get your business started for a very reasonable price. Believe me, with the free course, she gives SO much information I couldn't believe it was free.

If you're interested, please email me and I'll send you a link. It's an affiliate link, so I'm not sure if I can post that here.

There is definitely an increasing demand for "green" products. I think it is very smart to tap into this market as I think it will grow in leaps and bounds in the coming years.

At work here, we recently started an Eco-Team - the goal is to help employees and the company become more aware of how we impact the environment and to showcase ways to positively affect change.

In fact, I'm on my way to a meeting now.

Mid-April I'll be hosting a "Movie Night" here in our cafeteria. We'll be showing An Inconvenient Truth for anyone who hasn't seen it, wants to or just wants to discuss things.

...not trying to be too soap-boxy here, but if you breath air, you should see this movie. Even my dogs have watched it.

Earth friendly is the way to go. You never go wrong when going "organic".

From what I've seen recently there are definite opportunities in the 'green' sector. I think the trick is to be innovative and get it into the market quickly before someone else does.

If you have any great ideas to help the planet, get them out there now…or give them to me

Yes, Go Green. A study posted yesterday, 6/11/07, in earthtimes.org said small business owners and others are willing to pay a slight premium if it is "green". Get innovative and help save this planet one business at a time.

ESands, I have to agree with that survey - at least on my part anyhow. I, too, am willing to pay a tad extra for "green" products and services. It's time to acknowledge what's happening and accept responsibility for our part in it.
