Default Starting up a Catalog

I help run a specialty store whose main product lines include historic and souvenir swords for the weapons enthusiast. It's definitely a product that I enjoy selling in an industry (sales/retail) that I find dynamic and fun.

I'm looking into producing a catalog for my current customers. Does anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

Mark

Default Catalog Issue

HI MARK,
MY ADVICE IS INVEST SOMETHING SMALL ON A LOW BUDGET CATALOG. AND SEE HOW IT GOES. IT IS BETTER TO TRY THAN NOT TO TRY.

Good luck

Default Check your taste first

Hi Mark:

I do not know how you are doing with the catalog. If you are still needing help, I can give you a tip either to start one or improve it, if it is not giving you the result that you are expecting.

- Check catalogs, no only about swords but also something else clots, toys, etc.
- Get what you like of those catalogs (pictures, colors, styles, positions, combinations)
- Take pictures of the products that use to sell more. The idea is to have a stable catalog.
- Use the pictures to make a sketch to see how it looks like (using any tools, including scissors and glue).
- Get feedback from friends
- Check local printer companies by looking at yellow pages, Internet directories or even flyers (sometimes the printer is in a border)
- Take the sketch to the printer company and check prices.

If you do not have time for designing you might take this work to a local company but your cost could go to the sky.

If you like the result, there will be others like you that will like it too.

Jose

You can try e-catalogs. So make your catalog in digital form (.PDF) and email it to your customers. This will cut the cost of producing the catalog.

Default still needing a catalog?

Mark,

This is what I do...printing, publishing, and graphic design. I would be glad to answer any questions you have, and help you out. Just let me know.
