I've been working for the international trade company. I know the knowledges about the international trade, logistic and sourcing. I'd like to have a small bussiness be a sourcing. What shall I do. Thanks!

Hi Ellameng. I am looking to start a company - perhaps importing products made in China that may need local representation. I've invented products and manufactured them in the US - the company was sold recently. Anyway, I have over 20 years of experience inventing, patenting, selling, marketing and exhibiting at over 25 trade shows per year. If you come across a great product with poor designs or poor marketing, please let me know. I don't know that much about importing or buying from China so that would allow me to concentrate on what I do best. Thanks, Stan

mmm... be wary about importing from China. I have never had a good experience, the delivered product is always different to the sample you bought 10,000 of. And once you have a container of product that is not right, it can be quite a problem. You have to spend a lot of time in China with good translator, who can possibly check shipments before they are sent to you.

Thanks jinxjg21. I would pay them a visit first. Have to find something first...or something on the web.

Hi stan, it might help to contact one of our members. His name is Jason and he owns http://www.east2westconnections.biz/. He is located in China, but from the US.

Default Want to learn about China sourcing...visit the Canton Fair

Great thread.

China is a challenging business opportunity.

But as in every other business, knowledge is power.

I have been importing products for myself and for other clients since 2002.

It always amazes me when I meet so-called China "experts" that have never even been to China.

China is tough to learn from a book, I suggest to all of my clients to spend a week over there.

Get dirty for a few days, you'll come back knowing more about sourcing in China than anyone you have ever met.
