Exclamation Are You Influenced By Customer Testimonials?

Research has shown that customer testimonials dramatically increase sales conversions. That's a proven fact.

My question to you is this: Are you influenced by customer testimonials? Do they persuade you at all?

Most definitely. But they can't be too sickly or they are unbelievable. You can spot fake testimonials a mile away.

I particularly like it when people come back to my questionnaires with how they were sceptical at first, but they were happy in the end. Everyone is sceptical at first, so potential clients can relate. Asking your client how they felt before they used your service or bought your product, then follow it with asking how they feel now, brings this out every time.

It's testimonial gold.

That's true. Some testimonials are so obviously fake, they insult your intelligence.

Ebay is a perfect example of the power of testimonials. In fact, I just recently purchased a second computer from an ebay merchant because their customer satisfaction ratings were so extraordinary.

As it turns out, the merchant exceeded even my high expectations for customer service.

The problem is that most small business owners don't know how to GET good testimonials. There really is a way to do it... and get great ones!

Testimonials MUST speak to the visitors (website visitor) pain. That is, when a customer speaks in a testimonial to say that 'they tried 3 other places and they couldn't help'... and then go on to speak to how you helped them... that's gold!

Just to put up a bunch of 'you guys are the best!' testimonials (which are nothing more than self serving statements) can actually HURT your business.

Use testimonials... and be sure you get the good ones.

Hope this helps!

That's an excellent point and 100% true.

Sometimes it's not so much the customer testimonial as it is the context of the written testimonial.

It's easy to say: you're great, you're the best, super service, etc

What's convincing for me is a well written first-person POV statement detailing how he/she became convinced that the product/service is really good and worth buying.
