Your question is unclear...

Are you asking for examples of online retailers who do a good job of creating user-friendly ecommerce sites to sell their own stuff? (Such as Lands End, Amazon, Crate & Barrel, etc.)

Or are you asking for suggestions for shopping cart software or services? (such as Magento, Mal's Ecommerce, WooCommerce, etc.)

Default Why Bigcommerce?

Full disclosue: I work at Bigcommerce. Any of the platforms can be best in certain situations. The best advice is to write a list of all the feature you need for your ecommerce store. You can use that as your guide as you are testing out platforms.
For example, an advantage of a SaaS solution, such as Bigcommerce is that you we take care of the backend stuff like hosting, IT, PCI compliance. This allows you to focus your time on what you do best which is running your business.
Then you need to see if the platform has the payment option and shipping setup you need.

Some good places to start when going through your free trial is to setup your payment gateway(s) and shipping.
