Default Writing a press release...

Well, I hear writing a press release for a local newspaper is a good way to get your name out there, but how should I go about it? I am not a new business, but not all that established. I just recently became an LLC. I do mobile auto detailing and cleaning and I am a one man show... atleast at the moment. I am planing a "Carwash" day soon.

So, what should be the point of the press release? New name or "Carwash Day" or other?

I have a template for a release, but what information should I include?

Thanks

Sam

I wouldn't qualify a new name as newsworthy (unless you are a huge brand) but a car wash day can definitely be something newsworthy. The main idea for an effective press release is to have something that is worthy of news.

Thanks... I guess I will wait until I have all the details for the wash day before I issue a press release.

There are some tips on the release at the http://www.prweb.com site.

The main thing about the press release is that it should be newsworthy and interesting to the audience.

You may even adjust the press release to each locality individually to get a better response, I assume.

Using the PRweb.com's service for distributing your press release locally might worth the money ($120-$400+).
