Default New Article - Hidden Content Sources for Your Website

Authored by: Kim Roach

Full Text: http://www.searchengineguide.com/art.../0908_rc1.html

A Snippet:

People come online for information and those that offer the best content reap the greatest rewards. Unfortunately, this type of content is hard to come by. One of my favorite sources of content is public domain. This comprises the body of knowledge without a copyright. Anyone can use this material for commercial or non-commercial purposes.

Default Great article

I am fairly new to website building so finding an article as good as this is most refreshing. I have had a look at all the sites you mentioned and was impressed
by the wikipedia.org site. I have a question though, can I realy just copy this information, change it or not and put it on my website as content? Do I have to have permission from anyone? Can I use this content as a basis for publishing articles at directories? I have had a look at terms of use re copyright infringment, but it seems to be in the public domain. Can anyone clarify this for me before I use any of this material.
Thanks greatgolfer

You can certainly quote Wikipedia in your articles.

Texts, created by using the same ideas, is not the same as the source.

Unchanged text is copyrighted.

Basically, any content, even if there is nothing in writing about copyrights, is copyrighted to the owner right after its creation, unless stated otherwise.

As for Wikipedia, its content is under GNU Free Documentation License, so it can be used by anyone for any needs, it seems.
