I really have no idea on how affective my links (in sigs) are I just keep posting.

Being a little old-fashioned in my beliefs, I believe - The more you tell, the more you sell. In other words, the more people that knwo about you, the better your chances are of selling.

On one bass fishing site I have myself and 5 others that have my link in their signatures. Right now between the 6 of us it adds uo to almost 20,000 posts that have a link to my How To Get Sponsored For Fishing Tournaments site.

That's a lot of exposure and I don't know if it helps with Google or not. Don't really care.

10 years and running....still the most-loved promotional product!

Default Great idea

Great idea to drive traffic to your site. I am trying to figure out how to do the same thing that you are doing but for cheap or free. I need to get the word out about my company site.

I suspect some forums forbid placing links to other parties for payment.
Not sure of all of them do, though.

Placing a link to a friend's site shouldn't be a problem, though.

By the way, I'd figure forum links are easily detected and aren't valued much by Google. It is better to get a single link on a highly popular page on a related website than in thousands of posts (unless signature links bring loads of targeted traffic, of course).
