Default Toying with a new "freedom" look

I've taken some suggestions from this forum and attempted a test format for my site that makes the attempt at lookinga bit more like "freedom" (from financial woes).

I would love to hear some feedback before I go live with this new format (or bag it all together). I've only done the homepage, so no links work.

The potential new format is here . The current site is here .

Thanks in advance for any feedback you guys have to offer! I'm resilient, so be honest

That site's looking nice! I definitely like the white better than the offwhite. I'm torn on the fading out to blue part. It looks nice - just not sure I'd tie that with something like finances.

I'm not the design/color expert so hopefully someone else can give better input.

Hope this helps!

Paul

Jesse,

I like the new format vs. the old. It makes me want to read it more, it's a little crisper looking. I like that you made the steps to security column larger on the left. It looks really good. I hope that helps.

From the sound of it, looks like I'll move ahead with the new format. Let's hope it positively affects the bottom line as well

Hi Jesse,
I think you have made some good changes,(a white background with black text is the easiest to read),think newspaper.
As you are "financial" in context I am thinking a Bank look, but still one that is warm and inviting may give the impression of a "solid business Company.
I would like to see wood or marble in your template, something with a strong and established feel.I think the masculine look would appeal to your male visitors. If it is kept warm and inviting it will appeal to your female visitors as well.
I would not get TOO hung up on graphics though,
If you took all the graphics off your site and left the text could you sell anything?
If you took all the text off and left the graphics, could you still sell anything?
keeping your content at #1,it is the information your visitor is looking for,the graphics are just the "frame"
There are many sites that offer free templates that do not require any HTML.
You can edit these in just about any graphic editor.
A template I have comes to mind and I can email to you for a look if you like,
Jesse,I think you have a lot of ambition and that will be half the battle won.
Keep to it!
Tanna
