Default Help With Linkbuilding Strategy (!)

Hello there! Past time I've read a great amount of article about link building including Google guides and the latest news from Matt Cutts and news from Moz, Seo Blog, Search Engine Land etc. And anywhere I read, I saw the comments that practically all types of link are dead and besides that they will not bring any use, they also will damage the performance of the website in Search Engine.

So, I have the site devoted to free slot games with no download - and I didn't bought any links to it - just contributed articles for authoritative sources and gave some press releases for news portals about updates on the website.

But besides that, there are a lot of different unknown links that appears each day in WMT of low quality and I don't understand why these sites are posting links to my site and will they damage my site?

Till today I pointed to Google that I didn't post them, but I'm tired make the same work each day. Is it normally to do nothing with it?

P.S. Will be indebted for any suggestions. Maybe someone have similar website, so that you could explain me the effect? Thank you!

First off, if your takeaway was that "practically all types of link are dead and besides that they will not bring any use, they also will damage the performance of the website in Search Engine" -- you need to go back and re-read those articles, because that is not the case at all.

The links that are of less value are "built" links -- that is, links you create yourself. When you attract earned editorial links -- that is, links that other webmasters place on their sites because they like what you offer (or at least, they like a bit of your content) and want to share your offer (or your content) with their own visitors -- those are still quite valuable.

You might want to check out Eric Ward (a.k.a. "LinkMoses"). He's a linking expert, and has a lot of good free advice (and a useful paid newsletter) with ideas and suggestions for gaining good links.

As to the links that are showing up in Google's Search Console, don't worry about them. As long as you don't have any sort of warning from Google about them, as long as you didn't place them, they're almost certainly not hurting you. Likely Google was ignoring them to start with.

Spend your time and energy on attracting and earning solid editorial links instead. Just a few of those will be sufficient to send the right kind of signal to Google.

It is usual that there are some unknown links that appears in your WMT and if these are low quality links from other sites take time to disavow them then at the same time build links from related authority sites.

How about disavowing link referal programs? Our company way back participated in one, those links still show up even though its out. I dont think they provide any value as they are from unrelated sites, but disavowing so many links is a hazzle...

I've already read the advice from Eric Ward and he told that there is no any harm from the links of low-qualitative spammy websites as they are usually not even in the index of Google, so about 20-30 (sometimes even more) just do not have any meaning at all.
There also were about 3 websites that I don't like at all as they lead to China web directories (I didn't add the link there and it appeared by itself), so I decided to disavow them, but didn't notice any results since that time.

I'd like you to see the site firstly to make any analysis or give the suggestions about the existing backlinks. I understand that there are a lot of blogs or advice from the bloggers, but they can not give any practical recommendations to implement, so I believe that there are expert on this forum that can help me, so here is the source I'm talking about here: http://www.slotozilla.com/. Do not remove it as this post will lose sense and will be useless for other users. Now they can see the real examples, give advice and even compare their sources with this one and follow the advice given here.

Focus to make high quality backlinks, make sure the DA and PA of the website is above 30 and the spam score to the website below 5. You can check all these details by using moz ose tool.

Also focus to create back links by natural ways.

I hate these advice such "write high quality comments". My experience supports another strategy - look for proper websites

I'm a big fan of two things with back linking: relevance and diversity

Relevance: Make sure they are at least somewhat relevant to my niche market and the keywords I want to rank for.

Diversity: Try to be diverse in the backlinks you get. No follow vs. Follow; Guest Posts; Forum Links; Toolbar Links. Also be diverse with your anchor texts too. Don't be afraid to make them naturally branded (don't always use exact match keyword).

Hello Torka,

Can you please share information on how to get editorial link? What are the factors which need to be looked after in order to get those link?

Your suggestion would be really very helpful.
