The entire online marketing industry is still up in arms after Matt Cutt’s post on his blog title: The Decay and Fall of Guest Blogging for SEO. Guest Blogging was one of the last horizons that people considered safe for “White Hat” link building. So what now? Is guest blogging truly dead.

Yes it is but not the spamming one! Link building should be in natural way, Google always recommends the site owner to do content marketing so that other high authority sites want to link to your content naturally.

As a quick update, I got his email from Brian Dean of Backlinko (he's a super smart SEO guy) and this was one of the announcements from google:

Announcement #1: Links and content are Google's #1 and #2 ranking factors

So there ya go.

However, the "quality" of back links is very important. It didn't used to be but now it is.

So as much as you want great industry, high quality website to link to you. You don't want spammy terrible websites linking to you.
