Default Favorite Quotes On Entrepreneurial Success & Failure

My husband and I just shut down a business (gut-wrenching if you've never tried it!) and are carving out our new directions. It's amazing what you learn and what new things are unleashed in you when one of your dream shuts down.

I am now working on a project that is essentially a compilation of quotes and short quips, old and new, geared primarily for the entrepreneur (like me) who has experienced failure. The theme is reframing or redefining failure, which is an exercise I do in my own mind daily. I know there are plenty of inspirational books and books of quotes out there...but in the least it is a good thing for me to do for myself.

I would love input, especially if there are favorite quotes (even your own!) or personalities, or if there is a particular format or angle that you all as small business folks think would hit the target.

One of my favorites is by Orison Swett Marden the founder of Success Magazine -
"The first pat of success is Get-to-it-tiveness. The second part of success is Stick-to-it-tivemess."

People have a "quick fix" mentality, and I believe that is why most people don't succeed in today's society.

Sorry about your business! I persnally like this one : What doesnt break you, makes you strong. It is the most inspirational quote as far as I am concerned.

My favorite one is...
“It’s fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.”
- Bill Gates

9 out of 10 business go out of business within the 5 years. The really successful entrepreneurs will tell you to keep trying till you find a plan that works and makes you rich. But most people give up after failing twice. Look at failure as lesson to success.

Here is a good book for any small business or entrepreneur minded people to read

I read it somewhere in forum signature of a guy who was operating a digital marketing company, I forgot where but the quote was-

"Nothing will work until you do."

It has given my work a charm I started to work pretty good than what I was doing before.

A failure is not always a mistake, it may simply be the best one can do under the circumstances. The real mistake is to stop trying.
