As for my business, I have been doing International Trading for 2 years now. I send/post/export according to my customer's needs.
I believe that each customer whether they are small business or larger business have their own needs. They may need special/unique products that their competitors don't have so that a higher profit may be gain.
On the other hand, some of my customers just need to reduce the cost price and thus purchase from my area. One very good example is the Angry Bird figure. This customer of mine lives in Melbourne and owns a small gift shop. He is selling the Angry Bird figure that I sent him at AUD$25.90 with the cost price of AUD$4.50. How many % is that?!! He is now arranging with me to courier direct to his customers after customers make payment.
I also sell products that are not special at all such as canned foods, nike shoes, branded bags LV, quilts, stationaries etc ... but still following my customers requests and needs. But of course after agreed on the quantity and price. I am happy as long as customers are happy
