Thanks for this. I just got a new system and I figured I would run into a post like this again. The network.http.pipelining was already set to true and network.http.pipelining.requests was set to eight. I wonder if new installs already have this.

(For some reason I have the Internet Settings memorized LOL)

I rarely use IE because it has too many bugs and I think upgrading to the latest version of Firefox does the trick for speeding up the browser.

I don't see any differences according to Firefox's speed. May be these recommendations are for IE and judging by my experience it really needs to be faster.

Best way to speed up Firefox or IE is to install Chrome worked for me
