There are lots of free business plan templates flying around the web. Try doing a Google search for "business plans" or "business plan templates" (or even "business plan checklist"). Then it's just a matter of digging in, doing your research, and starting to put ideas to paper (or computer screen).

Feel free to ask us questions along the way and good luck!

You can also find business plan books at your local library or even buy a copy of Business Plan Pro which walks you through the entire process.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) has some great resources on their Web site. You can also get free business advice through the SCORE program via your local SBA office. (Sorry I don't have enough posts to include links to these sites).

You might also check out Business Plan Pro - I think they just released a new version.

There are many free services you can use from the government. Look for your local Small Business Development Centers and contact S.C.O.R.E. Do some research on what kind of business you are trying to do, and maybe work in the field you are trying to open a business in, so that you know what expenses are involved.

Try to search in the internet about business plan or look for business/entrepreneurial books that has pages that tackles about "How to make a business plan. Some business related books has it.

All good advice on how to get templates and information on business plans.

When you start writing your plan, start by writing out the executive summary as this is the most important part of the plan and will be the most read. In most cases it is the only section read. When starting with the executive summary it gives you the feel for the most important points to elaborate on in the other sections. Furthermore if you learn new things while writing the other sections you can then go back and adjust the executive summary.

May be it's going to be better to find a local specialist who can create a business plan for you.
