Default Power Point Presentations

Should we add a power point presentation to a website?

This is for the air conditioning website I talked about last week, all companies in the UK now require to have their equipment energy tested otherwise they will have a fine, we have prepared a PPS presentation but not sure if we should add to the website or not, what do you think?

This would appear that it has to be converted also

Hola, Simone. I may add the option for the visitor to download the ppt presentation, but my approach would be to take the content provided in the presentation and create new web pages that present that content in web format. Don't get your visitors messing with ppt too much, but take the content and add to your website (and of course keywords you are targeting) - imo. Hasta pronto.

You can add this as a download like Logan said but I would not expect it to be a main feature.

I use my power point presentations in an internet conference room and try to drive people to the presentation whether it is a scheduled presentation or not. I keep my presentation to 15 minutes and that way it is short and sweet and people can decide if they want to go to the next step in the selling cycle or not. A Power Point Presentation is usually most effective when you have a narrator as that is the intent of the power point presentation in the first place. It is really not intended to be available for download as it is unlikely the prospect will get the full gist of what you are trying to communicate.

One option might be to record the presentation with voiceover as a video - my guess would be more people will be interested in watching a video than reading a slideshow, and videos are pretty effective for showing up in search results.

(screenr.com is a decent place to create a free video like this)

Why not? It can be good to your customers and will give them more chances to study your products or services.

I think putting it on the web site is an excellent idea. My advice is to convert the ppt to pdf file and postthe pdf instead of ppt. The latest version of Powerpoint has an option to save the file as pdf.
