Default Social Media Sites

Social media optimization is getting more popular nowadays.
I've been using Google plus, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for my websites.
Any other sites that you can suggest?

Thanks in advance.

Depends on what your goals are and where your customers are. Doesn't do any good to be on a social network if your customers aren't there, too. I mean, it's right there in the name: social media. It's hard to be social when you're essentially there all alone.

This seems to be a hot topic lately... people are starting to get overwhelmed with all the social media sites.

Torka is right - you should choose to be where your customers are and focus on the ones with the best potential for your business. Pinterest is hot now, but maybe you don't have a business that is very visual. Facebook is one of the biggest, but if you are B2B is it worth your time?

I made this chart that compares the business impact/potential for all the major social media sites that may be helpful for you:

I have to agree with that.

But in some manners Social media brings enough thing for a product, artist, company, store to be a tough name in their fields.
The thing also work with the TV ads. Lately I saw many TV ads that talks about there product and in the end of this giving you a choice to like them in Facebook and Follow them on Twitter.
Why is that?

There bringing their promotion to the next level. If someone likes your website, or follows you. They can automatically see every updates you are making right?

With that the promotional, announcement, crowd activity and etc., will be that easy for them.

For me it's somehow catching the attention of the crowd. Just keep on going on flow. You will never go wrong, just read enough things to guide you with this.

In most cases, though, it's impossible to know where your customers are. So, you need to test. I recommend setting up accounts (claim them) on as many social networks as possible--and be in 'testing mode' for a period of time. You'll pretty quickly see which networks drive traffic to your site and which ones do not.

There are sites that will help you claim your profiles, such as http://www.knowem.com and http://www.namecheck.com/
