Default Wordpress Vs Blogger For Affiliates?

I am thinking of doing a blog to sell fitness products using affiliates. Which would work better and be more beneficial? Wordpress or blogger?

Angie you could probably make either one work well. I prefer WordPress (though in all fairness I haven't used Blogger).

I think hosting the blog yourself (with Wordpress) is a better option since you'll have more control over the site. WordPress already has a wide variety of plugins, including some to help with affiliate links.

Admittedly I work with code a lot, but I've found WordPress very easy to install and use and there's a strong community around the software to help solve problems and offer extras like free themes and plugins.

Blogger is more for lazy people and/or those who dont want much out of their blogs. Wordpress is where it's at!

I think WordPress is better. You have lots of options to choose from.

I tried using Blogger before and it was not a really pleasant experience. The site is always down and it takes a long time to publish my blogs.

There are also times when I can't open my accounts because of some problems in the site.

I have both-- WordPress and Blogger blogs hosted on my domain. The low maintenance choice is Blogger. WordPress has more features and even the user interface resides on my domain. I like this feature a lot. The user interface for Blogger is hosted on their domain, however you can get lots of programs for your computer that will load posts to the blogger database.

WordPress also has a hosted version @ wordpress.com, however if you have the option install WordPress on your own domain.

Thanks for all the responses, I was kind of testing them both out and I think I will go with wordpress!

Now, my next question..

does anyone know of any blogs that do just affiliates? I am still a little unsure about how to go about it....thanks!

The easy way around this is to post by email. If it is down, or slow, your mail just waits in the queue. Blogger seems more reliable than it was since the new version came out of beta.

Blogger has definitely improved with the new version, it's hardly down these days (hardly a ringing endorsement I know). I do want to try WordPress, and will do so with the next blog that I set up, and if it's as good as I think it is (with all the available plugins, etc), I'll most likely end up migrating my main blog over there.

I'm a huge fan of Wordpress. It has a large user base and an equally large support base. New releases are frequent with features being added regularly, and there are a host of plugins that are easy to add to your blog - anti-spam, for example.

The true beauty of Wordpress, as has been mentioned earlier, is the amount of Themes available, and if you are any way technically minded, it's not that difficult to adjust the theme yourself so that your blog slots in perfectly with your existing web-site - navigation menus, look and feel, colours, etc.
