Default Google Phone Consultation & Specialist Recommendations Report

I receive this email from Google, curious what they will recommend I read on ...

To give you a taste of what it is we can do for you, here's a brief consult that should help you drive more qualified leads to your site ....

1. Your ads are not always appearing on the first page of Google search results

Please read on for the solution I propose:

One way to help improve your ad position is to increase your keywords' cost-per-click (CPC) bid. Your account has a helpful feature called "first page bid estimates" that tell you the CPC bid generally needed for your ad to reach the first page of Google search results. You can analyze your account for keywords that are most important to your business goals and edit your bids to invest in those keywords. This is one of the easiest fixes which can provide first page exposure to your ads.
Wow. That is some earth shattering advice from deep in the bowels of the googleplex. er, um, how about raising your bids. lol. there were no other recommendations.

So true... Probably 90+% of small businesses doing PPC have absolutely NO clue what they are doing. They don't know why their ads are not showing. They don't know how to optimize ads to improve CTR. They have no clue how to create a well optimized landing page. They have no clue what quality scores are and how to use them to lower CPCs and raise positions.

The lack of knowledge amongst a large majority of their user base is quite literally... astounding.

I've talked to many people who have no idea they have to raise their bids. They think they pay and magically their ad should come up. Not so true
